This is a rough draft concept of a book I’m writing. Would love some feedback..
Do you believe that a day will come when thousands across the world will be saved before an impending oblivion or reset?? The phenomenon I am referring to is the rapture, and apparently only 144,000 of us are eligible to be saved.
If this is a belief of yours, then you know only 12,000 of each house will be taken. But what do we know of these houses? How can we identify a member of which house in this age? Can the tool of astrology be a form of guide or aid in this discovery? If it were so, would you want to know where you stood? If you weren’t rapture worthy, would you want to know how far off you were from being worthy?
I invite you to imagine a day and age, not unlike our own, where science, blind faith, and hysteria have all each lent a hand to the creation of a tool, not only capable of identifying the house you belong to, but also your rank within the house. A tool not without its suspicions, there are interest groups local and abroad that all want to use that very private information to their advantage. Will humankind succumb to greed in its final days? Will denial, deceit, and treachery be the only road to salvation??
Depictions of a people aren’t randomly imagined.. Its the “situational ironic” view from the outside making sense of a “private and just between us” PUBLIC outburst shared between friends.
(Let it marinate)
Now I’ve been known to smile at being called “slacker” by a male co worker knowing full well that I’m anything but, and can see how a newbie can mistake me for actually believing that I identify by that term merely by gauging my reactions to it.
What I could never understand is my getting upset at said newbie for calling me out of my name because he/she and I aren’t “intimate enough”.
Did my identity just change? No! It was a misinterpretation of an endearing term that held more weight than he/she could understand. I’m not impossible to understand or to get along with, so I’d explain this without trying to take his/her head off.
As for the “newbies” using terms they overhear.. as for the “vets” who claim the right to solely use their terms amongst themselves.. Your “treasure talk” will be duplicated and imitated as long as you are within a newbies’ earshot. the more its promoted and broadcast, the likelier “open season” on the term will ensue. An example of that is the term “bling”
If you don’t want “it” ruined or corrupted, take better care to keep it interpersonal and private.
